Ratatouille La Gourmet @ Publika

Hi, guys! Been missing in action for the past few months as I'm too lazy to update my blog. Haha. Well, I'm back! Let me introduce you to this newly open French-English restaurant located at the infamous Publika

RATATOUILLE

La Gourmet

Sounds familiar? Because.. Okay, remember an animated movie that shows a French mouse that can cook really well? I think mostly the 90s kid would recall. Yeap, the  movie called Ratatouille as well. Probably that's the reason why you find it familiar, well that's the first thing I thought of though. Haha.

As stated on the above, they serve French-English cuisine where you can find pastas, salads, escargot, steals and others!

So, I've tried a few dishes and I would like to share with y'all!  Sharing is caring right? Haha. Okay, so let's start with the starter of the day.

Starter:
BROCCOLI SOUP

I would highly recommend this to anyone whom love broccoli as much as me! It's not creamy at all, it's definitely a thumbs up!
9/10

PUMPKIN SOUP

I must say, as compared to many restaurants, it's one of the top! A must try to pumpkin fans.
9/10

Next, two other appetizers to boost up the appetite.
CAESAR SALAD

The all-time-favorite salad that everyone would simply order as a side or starter. Well, nothing special about it as compared to others. But definitely worth a try!
7/10

FRIED CALAMARI

Want something to munch on while doing your assignment or catching up with friends but don't know what to order? This, would be perfect for a small bite just to keep your mouth occupied. It's wrapped around with a super crunchy layer of batter. Thumbs up!
8/10

ESCARGOT
Well, I'm not a fan of escargot thus I can't really describe the taste of it. But my brother gave a good feedback after having 'em in his mouth. It may be a bit different from the ones you've tried as there's no cheese on it.
7/10

SCALLOP

I must say this is one my favorite dish of the night! I barely find such big and juicy scallop anywhere in town. It's accompanied with a touch of avocado sauce underneath and tobiko on the top of the scallop. Best when you eat it as a whole so that you can get the perfect taste of it, unless you're eating it with your date (for ladies), well then you gotta it eat elegantly. Haha.
9/10

Love how it was presented! Definitely a picture worthy. It served with the shape of a spoon, how creative!

Main courses:
BLACK COD
Perfectly portioned, cooked with terriyaki sauce and accompanied with mash potatoes underneath it. Can't afford the black cod in Nobu? I would suggest to try this as it has similar taste to it.
9/10

SEAFOOD PASTA
Seafood lover? Then you'll definitely love this! It's a mix of sweet and sour sauce.

9/10

AGLIO OLIO
It looks plain but it's not the same when you taste it! As compared to the ones I've tried, this isn't too oily or tasteless, it has a really rich taste which words can't describe. You gotta try it then only you'll know what I mean.

8/10

LAMB SHANK

Look at it, don't you feel like having some already? Haha. This dish is definitely a must try if you're a lamb shank lover. The texture of the meat isn't that course and juicy as well. Usually you will find most of the lamb shank very dry and course that you need to chew a few times to digest. Double thumbs up!

8/10

Okay, we're done with the main courses now let's move on to dessert, which is every girl's favorite or even guys as well. Who will ever not want something sweet after having a main course?

Desserts:
Cheese Cake (left) & Tiramisu Cake (right)

A close up to it:

Cheese Cake
Not a fan of cheese but my brother rate it 7/10 as it taste just nice with the right amount of cheese in it and plus point on the fine texture.

TIRAMISU CAKE
My favorite dessert of the night! Love how soft the texture is and with the rich taste of tiramisu! A coffee lover will definitely fall in love with this. A must try!

9/10

Next, is the Chocolate Lava cake! It's one of the signature dish in Ratatouile. In mandarin, it's named as "Xin Tai Luan" which means soft hearted because as you gently poke through it, the chocolate fillings will then flow out of the cake. It's freshly served right from the oven, so it takes awhile to prepare. Best combo when it's consumed with ice-cream as the cake is hot and the ice cream to cool it down.

APPLE PIE

Love how it combines with the ice cream. This dish requires a 20 mins wait as it's freshly baked from the oven.
